  Barbara Braly Bernhart, 86, of Grants Pass died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at her home.Viewing is set for Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors, with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass is set for July 12 at 1 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Holtzinger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526.Bernhart was born May 2, 1928, in Los Angeles, where she graduated from Marlboro High School and attended the University of Southern California. On June 6, 1949, in Beverly Hills, she married Paul C. Bernhart, who died in 1991. She lived in Newport Beach, Calif., and was an Orange County resident until 1982, when she moved to Grants Pass. She worked briefly as a real estate agent before her retirement.She was a Master Gardener and, while raising her granddaughter, she was involved in Girl Scouts and equestrian activities. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the Oregon Coast and at the family cabin in Big Bear, Calif. She also enjoyed having visitors, gardening, her cows and reading, especially history.Survivors include four daughters, Merill Plou of Newport Coast, Calif., Carol Wood of Poway, Calif., Tracy Neff of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Barbara Tamashiro of Grants Pass; two sons, John and Tom Bernhart, both of Grants Pass; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson.A son, Paul Bernhart Jr., died in 2012.
