Stanley Duane Coatney
Stanley Duane Coatney was born on October 28, 1928, to George and Martha Coatney. He grew up in the San Jose area and enlisted in the Navy at only 16 years old. He served on active duty from 1945-1947, and then in the Reserves for a few more years. Duane then chose to become a firefighter for Santa Clara County, continuing to protect those around him. He served his community faithfully from 1954-1981, and retired as a Captain.
