One of the best parts about travel is to visit new places and learn about their history and highlights.

And for me, this includes gardens.

While I was away from this column, I did just that during a trip to the East Coast. A specific highlight was the Halifax Public Gardens in Halifax, Canada. Which, as the garden officials there note, is the only surviving authentic Victorian garden in North America.
