It's quite possible that the best-oxygenated water was at the top of the lake, over a period of several cloudy, calm days, and the two-foot drop took most of it out, and much of the rest was used by rotting vegetation and smaller fish. The lake really needs to be dredged. I need to weed my tiny yard pond.
