Rating (Out of 5): 3.0
Location: Grants Pass, Ore.
Distance: 2 miles round trip
Difficulty: moderate/hard
Camping: No
Quick hit: This sometimes steep tail climbs to the top of Dollar Mountain’s 1,862-foot summit though an oak woodland, with views that highlight the town of Grants Pass and the Rogue Valley.
The trail becomes steep as it climbs higher and at one point splits in two. The trail going right is the easiest to follow up switchbacks. After the switchbacks, the trail levels out and heads up to the summit.
Directions: Follow B Street all the way from downtown Grants Pass as it heads into the hills. When you arrive at Crescent Street, turn left and head about .2 miles to the trailhead.
