Damnation Creek Trail (Del Norte Redwoods State Park)

Quick hit: This fantastic trail begins among a fantastic stand of old-growth redwoods, then crosses the costal trail, which leads to the continuation of the trail. After cross the coastal trail the path drops 1,100 feet to an ocean beach. The mixture of redwoods, ocean and mist make this trail a must-hike. The only strike is that it stays a little close to Highway 101 before dropping into the good stuff.
Directions: From Grants Pass, follow Highway 199 and Highway 101 for 82 miles to Crescent City, Calif. Follow 101 through Crescent City and south. The trail begins at a dirt pullout at mile marker 16.
