Cathedral Hills (near Grants Pass, Ore.)

Rating (Out of 5): 3.5

Location: Grants Pass

Distance: Outback loop 3.5 miles; various trails

Difficulty: easy/moderate/hard

Camping: No

Quick hit: This system of trails is located just four miles south of downtown Grants Pass. One of the best trails is the “outback loop” which is moderate/hard and provides some nice overhead views of Grants Pass. The trails are open to mountain bikers. There is a large map at the trailhead showing the various trails.

Directions: From downtown Grants Pass, travel south on Williams Highway 238 for four miles to Espy Road and take a left (there is a sign pointing out the left turn). Continue past Grants Pass Golf Club, and veer left when the road splits. Follow Espy Road to its end and a large parking lot.
