LOCAL RIVERS AND LOCAL MUSIC COMBINE IN VIDEO PROJECT

This past weekend, I finally got around to finishing a video on kayaking the Upper Applegate River, above the reservoir, that I’d been working on for quite some time.

The Applegate is little more than a creek up there, but it makes one of the most beautiful and fun kayak runs in Southern Oregon/Northern California during the winter and spring.

The rapids are Class III+ — with a Class V that’s usually portaged — and follows crystal water into polished black canyons through a dripping, mossy forest.

The video was just the latest in a series that I’ve been gradually filming that features local music and local rivers.

Southern Oregon has plenty of both, and so it’s been a fun project that is nowhere near completion.

Here’s links to the river videos that I’ve finished so far, with the local musician alongside.
